Melbourne, September 1, Kaspersky Lab is pleased to congratulate Melbourne Football Club President, Jim Stynes who was recently named the 2010 Melburnian of the Year. Along with his inspiring work for the Melbourne Football Club, Jim was selected for his tireless dedication to the welfare of Victoria’s youth, through his work with Reach - a Melbourne based non-profit organisation.
Harry Cheung, Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab APAC, commented that the announcement merely confirmed what all Melburnians and AFL fans already knew.
“The Stynes’ name is synonymous with dedication, passion and selflessness and everyone at Kaspersky is proud and humbled by his achievements on and off the football field,” said Cheung. “Through our sponsorship of the Melbourne Football Club, I have witnessed first-hand the love and enthusiasm Jim has for the Demons and we look forward to being part of what promises to be a bright future for the club.”
Cheung also congratulated the Melbourne Football Club on a fantastic 2010 season which saw the club win twice as many games as 2009 and play a fast and exciting brand of football.

Taking place on October 17, the Melbourne Football Club will travel to Shanghai to take on the Brisbane Lions in what will be the first ever AFL game played in China. The game represents a fantastic opportunity for both the Melbourne Football Club and Kaspersky to expose their brand to the massive Chinese market.
