On April 1st, Mr. Eugene Kaspersky, Founder and CEO of Kaspersky Lab, a famous technology pioneer and a leading antivirus manufacturer, together with Superstar Mr. Jackie Chan, held a media conference for “Presented by Kaspersky Lab -- Jackie Chan and Friends Concert in Beijing 2009” at Bird’s Nest, a landmark architecture of Beijing Olympic Games. At the conference, Mr. Eugene Kaspersky and Mr. Jackie Chan made a joint announcement that the concert would formally commence at Bird’s Nest in one month, that is, during the Golden Week of May. This is a “Holiday Feast” that Kaspersky Lab prepared particularly for China users.
It is reported that, after releasing the three-year-subscription product (Kaspersky Internet Security of three years subscription) in early March, Mr. Eugene Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky Lab visited China again on March 31st, two years since his previous visit. Beijing is his first stop in his 10-day trip. It is a big surprise that Eugene sponsors Mr. Jackie Chan’s concert in his China tour.
Mr. Eugene Kaspersky came to China in 2007 when Kaspersky Lab became one of the leading manufacturers in China. At the moment of deterioration of both economic and information security environment in 2009, he is revisiting China once again. Is it a sign that the structure of China’s information security industry will re-transform? It is yet to know for now.
Along with its localization deepened, Kaspersky Lab has increased its investment in China and gradually put its superior resources in China market. Sponsoring Mr. Jackie Chan for his concert is an indication. Kaspersky Lab is going to reinforce its development in China with Jackie’s influence in the Chinese world.
