The proactive protection of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 has once again received top marks from the authoritative Austrian AV-Comparatives test lab, which has published the second part of its report on testing conducted in February 2009. Kaspersky Lab was also awarded a top rating of Advanced+ for the first part of February’s test, in which 16 popular antivirus products took part.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 received the top award from respected Austrian independent antivirus test lab AV-Comparatives - out of a field of 17 popular antivirus products - and was awarded AV-Comparatives’ highest rating of Advanced+, achieving a malware detection level of over 97% and generating a negligible number of false positives.

While running in “on-demand scanning” and “real-time protection” modes, Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux File Server neutralized 100% of the viruses from an in-the-wild collection, in addition to worms and Trojans used for testing purposes. The Kaspersky Lab product also achieved an impressive 99.56% detection level of polymorphic viruses. Eleven antivirus solutions participated in the test, performed on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 platform.
